A Novel Idea: Part One

So, I'm writing a Novel. I'm also going to be blogging along the way. So, today is day 1 of my writing.

First, I wanna talk a little about what it's like to be an artist and feel like u have no outlet.

I've been a writer and a musician for as long as I can remember. I've written tons of song that haven't ever been fully produced and a million pieces of literature that has all but disappeared. However, Lately, Ive been feeling really anxious and nervous and I couldnt figure out why. Then I sat down at my piano and wrote the bridge for a song I've been stuck on for months now and IMMEDIATELY i felt better. I decided that I need to release some of this creativity inside of me because the anxiety it was causing me was affecting me in all aspects of my life. I couldn't even concentrate cause my mind would just be racing all over the place with thoughts and ideas and RANDOMNESS!!!

So, tonight I was reading something that Stephanie Meyer wrote about her process of creating the Twilight Series (which I love.) She said that when she was writing, she created her chracters. People she dreamed up and then LOVED and asked them WHAT HAPPENED in order to create her masterpieces. So, I'm doing just that. I've created a character and her setting. I've created things that happened to her in her life and a mindset for her. I created relationships for her and a starting point in her life.... And I asked her.... What Happened To you?

I'm not going to give it away at all. But I hope to carry you along with me in the process and deliver you the end result. So... LETS GO!!!

you're still here

Build me up
and leave me in a
castle made of stars.
fill my cup
with promises of stone
and golden smiles.
i know sinking stones
will crumble over time.
that's my worst fear;
you're still here.

when i'm breaking down;
you're still here.

i float faithfully.
i fall willingly.
no turning back.
no time to pause.
i'm looking through
past the rise and the fall.
that's my worst fear (the fall);
but you're still here.

when i'm breaking down;
you're still here.
when i'm all a mess;
you're still here

I'm on my way to bed, BUT I totally agree. A prenub is pretty much a predivorce! Why get married if ur planning for it to end.

Pro. While most people don't plan on getting divorced, things happen, and a prenup can protect you. Also, prenups can help to protect things you worked hard for before you got married.

i feel where ur coming from... but my thing is... If u need "protection" from this person (which is what it narrows down too) then why marry them in the first place?

You don't know what can possibly happen down the line. People change. While we'd all like to believe that marriage is forever, that's not always the case. Also, it's possible for some people to be so ~blinded by love~ that they don't realize their spouse has/had ulterior motives in why they wanted to get married.

I think it's meant more for the person who has more to lose in a potential divorce

truth. i was just talking about the fact that people change over time being the culprit for so many failed marriages... but i came to the conclusion that... although people change over time... you have to be willing to work through the troubles NO MATTER what. otherwise... dont get married! AND... if people rush into a marriage causetheyre blinded by love... then i say... YO BAD HOMIE. lol

And, while I agree with you, in signing a prenup, I'm ensuring that in the event something DOES happen down the line, I'm not paying anybody's alimony. LOL!

Best part is when the girl suckers the guy into paying child support for 18 years and not even telling him that the kid isn't his

Also, Angela, there are certain things that just cannot be worked out, in my opinion. So, yes... when you get married, in theory, it's supposed to be forever and death till you part, but there are definitely certain things that can be deal breakers (at least for me).

doesnt cheating make a prenup null and void or something like that?
17 minutes ago · Delete
Bobbie Ross
Bobbie Ross
Not always. It depends on what you put in the terms of the prenup, whether or not the court finds that you've forgiven the person, etc. There is some legal analysis involved.

Con. It shows that people are already placing more value in their possessions than in their relationship. Marrriage is about sharing life, love, and good times. If people are already concerned with what they may have to share or what they may lose, then they need to stop and reevaluate if they are really ready to commit or if they are with the ... Read Moreright person. If they are worried about how their future husband/wife could screw them if they eventually got a divorce, then they obviously don't trust their partner. Which begs the question... Why are you marrying someone you don't trust? Don't get married until you're willing to lose everything for that person you love. Then, a prenuptial won't even be an issue. If it still ends in divorce, then at least you didn't condemn it. I think there would be less divorce if people would really stop to think before they got married. Also, there wouldn't be as many divorces if people weren't so damn selfish. We have the freedom to be as selfish as we want when we are single. If you're ready to get married then you're ready to grow up and commit... For better or for worse.

A prenup doesn't necessarily mean that you're condemning the marriage from the start. Just like purchasing a life insurance policy doesn't mean you're condemning yourself to an early death. Or getting car insurance doesn't mean you're condemning yourself to getting in an accident. That's basically what a prenup is: an insurance policy.

Bobbie. its different than unavoidable things like death or an accident... Marriage Failures are 100 percent preventable if the right steps are taken.

So you're saying you can prevent the cross-dressing sex change dilemma from occurring?

Bobbie Ross
No kind of failure is 100% avoidable because people are not perfect - only God is. And you can only control what you do - and to a certain extent, what your kids do. You can't possibly always foresee and control the actions of your spouse who is a fully functional adult.

How many times have we seen specials on the news where someone up and kills another and the neighbors/family/friends/whoever are saying, "He/she was so nice! Such a good person! I never would've thought they'd do anything like this!"

I'm not saying that you, or anyone in this thread, would marry a murderer. All I'm saying is that shit happens. No one is completely infallible or predictable. A prenup serves as an insurance policy that you hopefully never have to cash in on.

Ideally, i'd like to start a band... drummer, guitarist, basist and moi.

its the perfect way to combine my love for music, writing and being on stage...

who wants to be in my band???

i can not write anymore

so... my old myspace blog was updated so frequently- i was starting to look like i had nothing better to do.
i started this blog(for some reason)... and the poor thing is so barren. i tend to forget i even have it...

i guess i can blame it on senior year and my freaking humanities thesis, (which i did SO well on)

that thesis took up every ounce of energy, passion, love, blood, sweat and tears i could muster up....

the saturday before my thesis was due- i seriously thought i was going to die. seriously. i had like a mini-panic attack/freakout/nervous break-down as i was heading to pull and all-nighter in the library. btw- by 2am- i had it and ended up going home. (so much for an all nighter)

but i digress....

this blog is about my wanting to find some inspiration but not knowing where to look....

my old blog was about all the insanity that went on in my first few years of college... and i must admit...it was pretty emo...

in this stage in my life im pretty happy....

yeah i have no job
...no money
my once long list of friends is dwindling down to a mere few
and im in love with a man who i'm sure thinks as much of me as he thinks of a random strand on hair on his perfectly wonderful head... yea- i'm nuts.

but none of that seems to matter to my happiness as much as it would have 3 years ago.

and so, i've decided that i need to create a blog with a purpose... a goal.... a THEME!!!

idk what------ yet.

but ive got my thinking cap on.

:)

till some one gets hurt

thinking of you is
jeopardizing my sanity
...
friday nights
minimizing my self-worth...
i can't help but imagine
having cake...
and eating it too. (cliche)
i've got money. time. my health....
everything!
but you.
indecisive over
whether or not
i even care...
no reply. no reply.
text. text. text.
but no reply.
text. text. text.
you reply with-
One Truth - and Two Lies.
reasons...
no
excuses...
oh, i know!!!!
you're done with me.
understandably so....
singing....
Never have I ever-
(you disgust me...)
Never have I ever-
(I disgust myself...)
one. two. three. four.
And one finger more.
two nights on her back
with one foot out the door.
its all fun an games but...
never have i ever felt so low.
